WHAT IS PSYCHOTHERAPY?
What do I need from you?
Therapy needs to be your choice, no one else’s
Weekly attendance is important in order to establish a relationship. Without building rapport, trust and reliability in the relationship it is very difficult to explore your complex emotions and life experiences.
Courage. Courage is not a word people talk about often in our busy lives, but the root to change is courage. The very act of booking an appointment and coming to therapy is exactly that.
What should you expect?
Sessions are 50 minutes and take place at an agreed time each week
During the first session we would discuss logistics, what prompted you to seek therapy and what you hope to achieve alongside background information and to see if therapy with me is a right fit for you.
Sessions take place in person (It may be possible to meet online but this would depend on each individual person and whether it would be helpful to the work in therapy).
Sessions will feel like conversation with a good friend, but the type of questions asked are curious, sometimes challenging - it is even possible to laugh in therapy! We work with clear boundaries and what is present for you on that day.
What are the fees?
£90 per weekly session
Concessionary rates are available, please contact to discuss
Therapy is a collaborative process between a trained therapist and a client. It provides a safe, confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and life experiences.
Through regular sessions, psychotherapy can help you:
Understand and manage difficult emotions
Identify unhelpful patterns or beliefs
Improve relationships and communication
Develop healthier coping strategies
Heal from trauma, anxiety, depression, or grief
It’s not about giving advice or quick fixes—it’s about empowering you to better understand yourself and make meaningful changes over time.
There are different types of psychotherapy (such as CBT, psychodynamic therapy, or humanistic therapy) I specialise in integrative psychotherapy which means having expertise in different approaches to therapy and working out the most appropriate mode of working for you.
